What is the sensation of Tixel treatment?

 

Tixel treatment is usually well-tolerated and some patients may not require an anesthetic. To increase patient comfort, a combination of chilled air and topical numbing may be used. During the treatment, most patients may feel some heat at the treatment site.

 

How many Tixel treatments are recommended?

 

For skin rejuvenation, we recommend scheduling three treatments once every 4 to 6 weeks, followed by one to two maintenance treatments within a year. However, for more challenging issues such as acne scarring or if lower settings are used, additional treatments may be required.

 

What is the downtime after Tixel treatment?

 

Since the outermost layer of the skin remains intact after Tixel treatment, downtime is minimal. The amount of downtime will depend on the settings used, the patient's genetic factors, compliance with post-care instructions, and overall skin health. Patients may wear makeup 24 hours after the procedure, and most can return to normal activities, including work and social interaction, within a few hours after the treatment.

 

What post-care instructions should I follow after Tixel treatment?

 

After treatment, patients should avoid the sun for 24 hours, wear a hat when outside, and avoid heavy exercise, Jacuzzis, or saunas. Patients should also refrain from using any skincare products on their skin, except for what their provider recommends. After the 24-hour period, patients may use a gentle cleanser to wash their skin and apply a light moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup. Patients should avoid using any skincare products with active ingredients for up to a week after the treatment.
